IMHR Faculty Position Opening

Open rank tenure track/tenured faculty position:

The Department of Psychology and the Institute for Mental Health Research (IMHR) at the University of Texas at Austin invite applications for a full time faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor to begin Fall 2013. We seek a candidate with an outstanding research program in any area related to mental health research, although applicants with a translational and/or treatment research focus are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong, extramurally funded research program, collaborate with IMHR faculty, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, direct graduate research, produce demonstrated evidence of successful research productivity, exhibit a commitment to service, and support and enhance a diverse learning and work environment. The Institute for Mental Health Research is a newly established academic research unit at the University of Texas at Austin. The successful applicant for the current position will also be appointed in the Department of Psychology, although additional appointments in other appropriate departments (e.g., neurobiology, pharmacy, integrative biology) may be possible. Researchers affiliated with the IMHR conduct research that ranges from basic behavioral research with normal populations to treatment trials with clinical populations. A unifying theme among IMHR faculty is an interest in how basic behavioral research can be used to understand and treat mental illness and behavioral disorders.
