The operations team at HomePay in Austin, TX is challenged with providing ongoing behind-the-scenes client support and account management that reinforce our company goals and mission. This role aims to consistently exceed the expectations of the company’s clients through the creation and constant improvement of procedures and processes that result in superior quality and operation efficiency. The Operations department works closely with the Sales and Consulting teams to ensure the team is meeting client service deliverables, and proving its commitment to timeliness, accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity in each functional area. 

We have openings for highly focused, task-oriented individuals who don’t let things fall through the cracks. This department is the backbone of the company. We are looking for somebody who is motivated to plow through a pile of complex paperwork and feels accomplished when the pile is gone. A successful candidate will be operationally-minded, with a knack for consulting. 

This position is very hands-on, with an emphasis on consultative education, and requires a high attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a high level of professionalism. A strong work ethic and a strong desire to be part of the team is critical for success. Specific Duties/Responsibilities: 
Manages task deadlines (short-term and long-term) and responsible for prioritizing personal daily workflow. 
Responsible for prescribed commitments regarding functional area and timeliness. 
Accountable for management and maintenance of tax accounts at both state and federal level. 
Applies for federal and state tax identification numbers. 
Manages tax account changes, including quarterly projects. 
Processes daily mail correspondence from state tax agencies. 
Maintains relationships at the state and local levels to aid in client service. 
Responsible for proactively researching and becoming familiar with all tax and labor law changes as they pertain to the household employment industry. 
Finds opportunities to build company reputation as the national experts in payroll and tax law at the federal, state and local level. 
Other duties and special projects, as assigned. 

Required Experience 
Education/Other Pre-requisites: 
B.S. in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent work experience is required. 
1 - 3 years of related customer service work experience 
Must be a self-starter with the experience and desire to wear multiple hats as part of an evolving team.

UT Testimonial - My name is Stephanea Johnson. I graduated Fall 2010 with a BA in Economics. I am currently a Client Consultation Manager. After graduating, my primary objective was to find a job that would keep me in Austin – no matter what. I figured I’d find a starter job, work for a year, and then find something else. However, after 4 years, I’m still here and very happy! When I first started with the company, there were barely 20 people working here. Now the company is over 50 people and still growing! I love working here for numerous reasons, one of the biggest reasons being the proximity to Taco Deli (we’re just across the street). But all kidding aside, there is a great company culture here. From carts of wine or snack in the afternoons or volleyball tournaments after hours, the company makes a huge effort to keep its employees happy. Which brings me to my next favorite thing about the company – the people. We have a strict, "no jerks" policy. Everyone I work with is someone I’d be happy to call a friend. 

When I first started with the company, I worked in the Setup Consulting position. My job was to review incoming registrations, contact the prospective clients to obtain missing information, and then setup the new account. I then moved to Consulting where I became a Client Consultation Associate. My job was to assist current clients with HR, Payroll, and Tax questions. Don’t worry, I went through a 2 week training program to teach me everything I needed! I am now a Client Consultation Manager. I love my job because it’s the perfect mix of everything. I get to spend time talking to clients, respond to client emails, and detox by making account changes that don’t require any client contact. But the job is so much more than that. I’ve found a home at HomePay and I hope some of you do too.
