This position is responsible for quantifying the value of the waterborne businesses in an independent, controlled, and compliant manner. They will also provide some support to other merchant trading desks/activities. The role will act as a liaison between trading, scheduling, mid-office (P&L group), settlements, accounting, global offices and tax departments. CCI will consider candidates with a variety of backgrounds and experience levels considering those with 1 to 3 years of experience. Candidates should either have a background in accounting (accounting experience within energy an energy trading environment), settlements, or P&L. 


Responsibilities: 
•Partner with the merchant product control team to ensure key tasks and objectives are being executed. 
•Partner with trading, scheduling and operations to ensure margin per vessel is quantified correctly within the daily pnl and the general ledger. 
•Prepare and manage flow of costs accruals for waterborne activity from set up, actualization, and write offs in conjunction with traders, schedulers, and settlements; monitor accrual aging reports. 
•Prepare P & L for intercompany transactions in accordance with established tax transfer pricing policy. 
•Reconcile and research P & L discrepancies with mid-office (P & L group) and accounting department. 
•Prepare joint venture P & L analysis for settlement with third party or intercompany partners. 
•Reconcile demurrage accruals, prepare and distribute monthly demurrage report to traders, schedulers, and management. 
•Perform special projects as assigned. 
•Prepare financial statement analysis for the waterborne business, have full understanding of impacts from trading on working capital, cash and the income statement. 
•Partner with traders, operators, contracts and third party customers to analyze, rebill and negotiate demurrage claims. Recording and reporting updates and costs to the desk. 
•Fast paced trading environment and able to adapt to changing requirements 


Qualifications: 
•1 to up to 3+ years’ experience will be considered 
•Proficiency in Excel is a must 
•Understand accounting principles and practices is a must, trading concepts and market valuation is a plus. 
•Experience with ETRM systems such as CXL (Triple Point) or equivalent, and SAP is a plus 
•Experience with Energy Commodities, preferably Natural Gas, NGLS, Crude, and Refined Products is a plus 
•Experience managing P&L resulting from physical positions including cargos, storage and transportation is a plus 
•Good interpersonal and communication skills 
•Strong analytical skills and ability to perform independent analysis requiring strict attention to details 
•Strong problem-solving and organizational skills 
•Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees 
•Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines 
•Ability to work independently and propose solutions 
•Proven history of being able to complete tasks successfully under limited direction and supervision 

Education: 
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting/finance or a related field.
