The Research Coordinator (RC) is responsible for conducting clinical trials using good clinical practice under the supervision of a Principal Investigator (PI). The RC’s primary responsibility is the protection of human subjects while carrying forward the research goals of a project. The RC plays a significant role in the success of a research project by: 
-Ensuring compliance with the protocol and that proper modifications are implemented 
-Preparing required regulatory documents and reports for submission to the Institutional Review Board (IRB) 
-Writing/drafting the informed consent document 
-Developing detailed cost and data analysis 
-Subject recruitment 
-Conducting the informed consent process 
-Patient care 
-Preparing the case report form (CRF) 
-Submitting CRFs and other data to the Sponsor as necessary 
-Reporting adverse events and protocol deviations 
-Establishing contacts to facilitate communication concerning patients enrolled in the research project 
-Acquiring and initial processing of study specimens 
-Entry of study enrollment/withdrawal/completion notes into VA system 
-Working with Sponsor on site initiation and monitor visits 
-Study close-out following VANTHCS Research Service and Sponsor guidelines 
-Completing training as required 
-Completing special assignments as requested by supervisor 

Qualifications: Ability to supervise, follow instructions and work independently. Bachelor of Science or Arts required. 2 years of relevant work experience (preferably medical/clinical) is highly recommended but not required.
