 Children’s Rights is seeking a full-time, entry-level paralegal to join an active litigation program committed to reforming child welfare services for abused and neglected children. Children’s Rights is a national not-for-profit organization that uses the law, in partnership with a variety of local and national expert groups and policy analysts, to bring about meaningful reform in government child welfare agencies that provide foster care, adoptive and child protective services. Responsibilities of the paralegal position include conducting legal, policy, and fact research, providing support to attorneys in case management, managing case press, collaborating on case-specific projects, indexing discovery documents, and assisting with case filings, depositions, briefs, and trials. The position of paralegal at Children’s Rights has been ranked by The Princeton Review as one of the Top 100 Jobs to land straight out of college. 

Candidates must have excellent writing and computer skills and must be very well organized, proactive in their approach to professional duties, detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking and true teamwork under occasional pressure. Professionalism, reliability and a good sense of humor are required, as is a B.A. or a B.S. We will not consider applicants who hold a J.D. degree. Knowledge of children’s issues or social services is a plus. A commitment to reform on behalf of abused and neglected children is essential. 

Salary for this position is in the mid-30s. A full benefits package is provided. 

We will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis and plan to conduct interviews beginning immediately. Applicants should be able to start by June 2015 and must be prepared to make a two-year commitment to the position.
