The Explore Austin Programs Intern will further the mission of Explore Austin through logistically supporting its programs. We are looking for motivated, organized, self-starters with a passion for learning about outdoor adventure programming. Explore Austin internships are unpaid, but can be tailored to meet requirements for class credit. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Assist in the coordination of all logistics for Explore Austin 
• Collect and report organizational metrics 
• Inventory and maintenance Explore Austin gear 
• Assist with the supervision and management of Explore Austin participants 
• Maintain Explorer and Mentor personnel files 
• Communicate with program participants 
• Research mentoring and outdoor adventure resources 
• Office administration 
• Work closely with the Explore Austin Program staff 

Qualifications and Skills: 
• The intern should be enrolled in or graduated from a college or university program related to outdoor programming, recreation, leadership, experiential education or social work. 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe preferred 

• Interns typically work 20 - 40 hours per week in blocks of time (i.e. MWF 9:00 - 1:30 or 12:30 - 5:00 AND TTH 9:00 - 1:30 or 12:30 - 5:00) and occasionally on weekends. 
• It is important for the intern to commit to the internship for the entire semester. 
• Summer interns typically spend more time out of the office and during off hours, helping prepare for the Summer Wilderness Trips.
