The candidate will serve as a quantitative equity research associate intern in the global equity research department of Fidelity Management and Research Company. In this role, the intern will act as a member of the central quantitative equity research team, and work with senior quant analysts to deliver portfolio construction analytics and conduct research and development on quantitative factors and models. 

The quantitative equity research associate intern will assist with the implementation of quantitatively based equity portfolio construction, risk management, factor attribution, and alpha generation analytics. Responsibilities include the procurement of data and creation of models to facilitate the research and portfolio construction process. This could entail performing ad hoc portfolio risk analyses, developing screens, or, more generally, collecting and conducting research on data for either a quant analyst or portfolio manager. Additionally, the intern will present his/her investment research to the quantitative research team.

We are seeking candidates who have the following characteristics: 
• Demonstrated mastery of math, statistics and programming skills 
• An education from a top tier undergraduate program studying engineering, computer science, math, or the physical sciences, or participating in a highly quantitative economics program 
• Working knowledge of statistical software (e.g., MATLAB, SAS, S-PLUS) and programming languages (e.g., Visual Basic, C++, C#, SQL, Java, Perl) is a distinct plus 
• Working toward a Bachelor’s degree and in his or her junior year of study
