Local non-profit working in the international wildlife conservation field is seeking assistance with website development and support. Currently GWC is in the process of redesigning and rolling out a new organizational website. We are looking for one or more interns interested in assisting a growing environmental non-profit with website and IT support support. 

The amount of hours per week will be dependent on the candidates availability and the number of interns selected for this position. 

Please see the list of required and requested skill sets below. 

PRIMARY SKILLS – Experience with: 
Website Design 
• Wordpress 
• HTML5 
• CSS3 
• JavaScript 
• jQuery 
Configuring the web server (nginx - 
• Creating new websites 
• Migrating existing websites 
• Enable / disable websites 

SECONDARY SKILLS – Familiarity with: 
Server Administration 
• Apache 
• Simple shell scripts 
• Installing Software 

Website Management 
• SSL configuration 
o Generating certificate signing requests (CSR) for new websites 
o Creating public key / private key pair for certificates 
o Installing certificates on web server 
o Renew certificates every year 
o Enforce websites to use SSL when transferring sensitive data (e.g. login credentials) 
• MySQL DB basic administration 
• DNS configuration (familiar with nameservers, IPv4, IPv6, A/AAAA, CNAME, NS, MX, and TXT records) 
Other Skills 
• Backing up / restoring files (including backing up and restoring the database) 
• Google Apps 
• Installing and compiling third-party software
