The Market Risk Management & Analysis ("MRMA") department measures, monitors and analyzes the market risk of the firm globally. We play a key role in the risk/reward decision making process of the Firmwide Risk Committee and measure the losses that the firm would experience under a variety of normal and extreme market conditions, across asset classes and for all our trading desks globally. We also verify and approve valuation and risk models and advise on the modeling of complex trades, while also working to report market risk information to external bodies and participate in evaluating and introducing new products and business. 

The Market Risk Infrastructure ("MRI") team is responsible for the oversight and controls of the firm’s market risk measurement platform and infrastructure, including ensuring integrity of our risk measurement production, the quality of time series data and published risk measures. It plays a crucial role in helping the firm to maintain a controlled environment while meeting ever-changing risk measurement requirements. 

The group works closely with all teams within Market Risk, as well as Controllers, Regulatory Reporting and Technology. MRI currently has teams in Bangalore, Dallas and New York. 

We are looking for a summer analyst to join our Dallas team and to be part of an extremely relevant, fast paced and growing organization. 

• Verify all reported risk metrics, including Value-at-Risk (VaR) and stress tests, for select business lines and products. 
• Ensure accuracy of MRMA’s risk allocation environment, including a daily review of risk account capture, treatment and aggregation methodology. 
• Review and escalate all violations of Risk Committee limits to senior management, covering various risk categories, such as GS Group, specific businesses, products and countries. 
• Report risk for various GS legal entities, generating risk reporting packages for multiple Risk Committees and external regulatory agencies. 
• Manage daily escalation processes for all risk model calculation adjustments. 
• Cover reporting for MRMA’s Jump To Default risk, working closely with Credit Risk management to ensure completeness. 
• Participate in various ad-hoc internal and external requests from a variety of areas, as well as work on strategically focused department-wide projects.
