The Legal Department of Goldman Sachs provides the highest quality legal advice and support to all divisions of the firm. It serves to protect the firm’s financial well-being and reputation, and it assists the firm’s businesses in evaluating risk associated with their activities and completing transactions. The department has four primary locations – New York, London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong – and a significant presence in 22 other cities, including Bangalore, Irving (Dallas), Jersey City, Singapore, Sydney, and São Paulo. 

Primary day-to-day responsibilities include: 

- Reviewing/drafting/negotiating Confidentiality/Non-disclosure agreements as well as Third Party Access/Non reliance Letters for IBD/Securities Division businesses 
o Involves coordinating and working closely with both internal business clients in IBD and Securities Division and external clients, as well as with lawyers and other legal department professionals 
- Maintaining systems and records of Confidentiality/Non-disclosure agreements and Third Party Access/Non reliance letters handled by the confi team 
o Tracking signed agreements and terms in relevant systems and SharePoint for recordkeeping purposes 
o Assisting with reconciling confi records with Conflicts Group 
o Assisting with tracking volumes of agreements handled by the confi team as well as preparing reports for the team, business clients and other internal stakeholders 

Additional responsibilities may include: 

- Assisting with Confidentiality Agreements and other matters relating to confidential information for secondary loan trading businesses within Securities Division 
o Involves drafting/logging master confi agreements and schedules for receipt or provision of info for secondary loan trading 
o Involves creating/maintaining datasites for distribution of confidential information to clients for secondary loan trading 
- One-off projects for the Mortgages Legal team, which might include, responding to regulatory inquiries or internal firm initiatives relating to confidential information we have in-house, assisting lawyers in reviewing other legal documents or on particular projects
