The Choose Healthier Intern will work closely with the Choose Healthier Coordinator and Programs Team to enhance the Choose Healthier Program by building relationships with local businesses and organizations in the Austin area as well as assisting in expansion efforts to other regions in Texas. The Choose Healthier Intern will be responsible for a number of projects that vary in timeframe, scale, and orientation. The purpose of these projects are not only to help improve IT’S TIME TEXAS business initiatives, but also to provide valuable knowledge and experience to the intern’s education and career aspirations. 

The Choose Healthier Mobile App is a free tool that allows individuals and families in select regions of Texas to identify free and low-cost, hyper-localized opportunities to take healthy actions. The purpose of this App is to increase awareness of and access to opportunities to take healthy action. Examples of these opportunities include running groups, hikes, farmers’ markets, cooking classes, health fairs, etc. 

Key Responsibilities 
Support Choose Healthier Programming: 
• Build and foster relationships with businesses and organizations 
• Promote the Choose Healthier Mobile App through events and the Street Team 
• Add opportunities and providers to custom content management system 
• Conduct Market Research 
• Assist in the creation and implementation of marketing techniques 
• Support the Programs team as needed 

Critical Skills/Abilities 
● Strong communication skills: verbal and written 
● Passionate about health and motivated to work for a non-profit 
● Detail-oriented: can adapt to a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment 
● Self-motivated: Able to work under minimal supervision 
● Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, or similar applications 

Minimum Requirements: 
● Enrolled in Bachelors or Master’s program with a min. 3.0 GPA, Degree in Business, Health, or Communications is a plus 
● Mandatory attendance of New Intern Orientation – TBD date
