JOB OVERVIEW 
The Operations & Finance Intern is responsible for assisting the Operations and Finance Manager on a daily basis with administrative operations and accounting. This position will be based in Austin, TX. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
The Intern will work in the areas of finance, human resource, operations and will gain exposure to grant reporting and non-profit budgeting and accountability. Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to, the following: 

Financial Management 
• Assist with the day to day accounting activities of the organization 
• Prepares reconciliation for bank and credit card accounts 
• Review accounts payables, accounts receivables, check requests and expense reports for proper back-up documentation for compliance and audit readiness 
• Prepare invoicing for programming and grants 
• Maintain financial files, ensuring documentation is complete and audit ready 
• Assist in development of departmental budgets and annual plan process 
• Prepares routing financial reports to assist in the evaluation of projects and internal review 
• Assist with Donor Acknowledgment 
• Maintain and prepare independent contractor files 

Human Resource Management 
• Assist in New Hire paperwork and reporting 
• Audit Personnel files for accuracy 

Operations Facility Management 
• Assist with overseeing facility maintenance repairs and code compliance 
• Update company policies and procedures as needed 
• Order and maintain supplies (Janitorial, Break room and General Office) 
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned 

QUALIFICATIONS 
• Experience using Intuit Quickbooks preferred, but not required 
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and internet 
• Strong organizational, time management and operational skills 
• Self-motivated with attention to detail and able to work independently and as part of a team 
• Ability to present (verbally and in written form) information in a clear and concise manner 
• 2 years of an undergraduate program working towards Bachelor’s degree relevant to the internship role
• Ability to work 10 – 20 hours per week
