NARAL Pro-Choice Texas is seeking an intern to assist with fundraising and development tasks. The ideal candidate will be energetic and enthusiastic, with a desire to learn more about the nonprofit world, the politics of reproductive health in Texas, and an interest in pursuing a career path as a nonprofit development professional. This internship is available during spring and fall semesters as well as over the summer. 
The duties of the development intern include: 
· Donor data entry and data hygiene in NGP VAN database 

· Processing weekly thank-you letters to donors 

· Assisting with direct mail campaigns and maintaining inventory of mail supplies 

· Donor research and qualification using WealthEngine 

· Donor acquisition projects 

· Foundation and grant research 

· Soliciting silent auction items from local businesses for fundraising events 

· Attending events and assisting with check-in and hospitality 

· Making stewardship phone calls and sending personalized cards to thank donors for their contributions 

· Assisting with other fundraising tasks as needed and other general duties as assigned 

NARAL Pro-Choice Texas’s only statewide office is located in Austin. This internship is unpaid but may be conducted for class credit or through a work-study program, if applicable. Interns must demonstrate an interest in nonprofit fundraising as a possible career path. The time commitment for this internship is 15 hours a week during spring and fall semesters. Summer interns may be part-time (15-20 hours a week) or full-time (up to 40 hours a week).
