Job Description:
The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, Texas Regional Office in Austin, Texas, seeks an outgoing and motivated intern to assist in the planning and implementation of special events and other fundraising activities within the Developmental Office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Texas Regional Office (TRO) hosts an annual gala. Preparation work for this event occurs year-round. Experience with special events is a plus but not required. The 5th Annual Texas Heroes for Children Gala will be held September 13, 2014, at the Hyatt Regency Austin.
Other community and awareness events will occur during the year for which planning and staffing assistance by the intern will be required. Other duties include writing, editing and/or proofing for marketing materials and social media posts.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required. Experience with a constituent management database a plus but not required.
Education and Experience:
Completed two (2) years of college
Minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4-point scale
Demonstrated ability to analyze written materials
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Skill Knowledge and Abilities:
Planning and logistics
Attention to Detail
Creativity and enthusiasm
Good research and writing skills (grant-writing experience a plus)
Social media skills a plus
Data entry (training provided)
