The Neill-Cochran House Museum offers part-time, unpaid internships for academic credit across all disciplines. Academic internships run with the academic calendar and are available for the fall, spring, and summer sessions for both undergraduates and graduate students. Students are responsible for obtaining departmental and faculty approval for course credit within their college. Time commitment will range from 5-10 hours a week during the school year and 20-25 hours a week during the summer. Prospective interns should meet the following qualifications:
Ability to multitask and work efficiently
Proactive spirit, professional demeanor, and positive attitude
Familiarity with a PC, MS Word and Excel, and email applications
Ability to articulate ideas and communicate well with a variety of personalities
Interest in/knowledge of history
Docents
The Neill-Cochran House also offers part-time, unpaid positions as Docents. Docents are trained to give guided tours through the museum to visiting groups of students and/or adults. Training will be provided over several weeks. Shifts are variable depending on scheduled group tours. Docents are needed when the museum is open for tours on Tuesday-Saturday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
