Budget Analyst/Business Financial Manager (Development Program)- 1063009 

The Business Financial Manager Development Program (BFMDP) serves as a training ground for recent college graduates to prepare them for a career as either a Business Financial Manager, Budget Analyst or Finance and Accounting Specialist within the National Security Agency (NSA). An as entry-level BFMDP participant, you will be part of a team that handles a wide range of budgetary tasks that is involved in providing new and improved intelligence capabilities and products to our customers. This area of business is concerned primarily with the total financial affairs of an organization, department, or program and the translation of actions past, present, and proposed into meaningful and relevant information for use in management. It includes the functions of budgeting, accounting, reporting, and the analysis and interpretation of the financial significance of past events and future plans.  

As a participant of the program, you will be required to complete three, one-year rotational assignments in selected areas with NSA. During this three-year commitment, you will receive training in federal acquisition and budgetary transactions to become certified in Business Financial Management under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and the DoD-FM certification. You will be required to take six graduate-level courses toward a Master's degree in Business. Following the successful completion of the BFMDP, you will assume a position as a Business Financial Manager, a Budget Analyst or a Finance and Accounting Analyst within NSA to fulfill your two year post-program obligation. 

Qualifications 

Entry is with a High School diploma and 1 year of experience, or an Associate's degree and 1 year of experience, or a Bachelor's degree and no experience. 
* Degree must be in business or a related field. 
* Experience must be in business or finance-related field. 
* Degree must include at least 24 semester hours in accounting, business finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organizational management. 

Candidates must possess background, skills and/or have demonstrated experience in the following areas:  
- Business 
Business Finance, Statistics, Business Law, Problem Solving, Basic Accounting principles and concepts Strategic Management, Ethics, Management and Organizational Theory, Program Analysis and Evaluation 
- Finance 
Management and Analysis, Trend Analysis and Techniques, Business Finance 

- General 
Policy interpretation and Compliance, Problem Solving and Process Management, Information Search, Retrieval and Analysis, Negotiation Strategies Operations Research, Industrial Engineering. 

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required from an accredited college with at least 24 semester credit hours of study in Business in any of the following disciplines: accounting, business finance, law, contracts, economics, marketing, quantitative methods, statistics and organization and management. 

The above minimum qualifications are generic for this work role; however, for this development program, a minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required. 

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule 

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. 

Salary Range: $43,057 - $59,689
