Contracting Officer Development Program -1063004 

The Contracting Officer Development Program (CODP) serves as a training ground for recent college graduates to prepare them for a career as a Contracting Officer within the National Security Agency (NSA). As an entry-level CODP participant, you will be part of a team that handles a wide range of contracts encompassing all that is involved in providing new and improved intelligence capabilities and products to our customers. Personnel selected for this position will be required to: work independently creating/reviewing purchase requests and related documents; clarify all facets of a proposed acquisition to ensure accuracy and completeness; prepare requests for proposals, conduct negotiations, and prepare necessary award documentation; and administer the contracts until performance is completed. The selectee will interface with various levels of personnel and management and organizations throughout the Agency, as well as with external customers and contractors.  

As a participant of the program, you will be required to complete three, one-year rotational assignments in selected areas within NSA. During this three-year commitment, you will receive training in federal acquisition to become certified in in Contracting and Program Management under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You will be required to take six graduate-level courses toward a Master's degree in Business Administration or related field. Following the successful completion of the CODP, you will assume a Contracting Officer position within NSA to fulfill a two year post-program obligation. 


Entry is with a Bachelor's degree and no experience. 
**Degree must include at least 24 semester hours in accounting, business finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, organization, and management. 
* Experience must be in business (e.g., acquisition, procurement, finance, contracting, accounting, logistics). 
**Note: The minimum education requirement of a baccalaureate degree with 24 semester credit hours in Business Disciplines is required unless the employee (of DoD or as a member of the Armed Forces) served as a Contracting Officer with authority to award or administer contracts in excess of the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT) on or before September 30, 2000; or served in an 1102 position or as a member of the Armed Forces in a similar occupational specialty on or before September 30, 2000. 
* Note: new hires will need to be certified to DAWIA I within 24 months. 

To qualify for this position an applicant must have completed a baccalaureate degree to include at least 24 semester credit hours (or the equivalent) of study in any of the following disciplines: accounting, business finance, law contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management. The ideal candidate will possess 0-2 years of related experience.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience. 

Salary Range: $43,057 - $59,689
