Project Inspire Teaching Resident - Application Deadline

Fri, February 15, 2013

Why Join Project Inspire?

Right now, roughly 50% of all urban public school teachers nationwide leave their positions in less than three years – not because they don’t want to teach, but because they’re not always ready. Project Inspire is an innovative STEM teacher residency program whose main goal is to inspire teachers to teach and students to learn. The program aims to recruit, prepare, and retain smart, motivated teachers for the Chattanooga classrooms where they’re needed most, with a current focus on 4th through 8th grade math instruction.

Each year, we recruit a cohort of up to 20 Project Inspire residents, so participants go through the program with a group of peers they can bond with and lean on. And there are already many graduates who have paved the way and are eager to help keep the flame going.

In return for this exceptional residency year of training, each Project Inspire graduate commits to teaching in Hamilton County public schools for a minimum of four years after the residency year.

And most importantly you will lay the foundation for a successful teaching career while also being a part of positive change in the lives of your students and the community!

Who should apply to Project Inspire?

We’re seeking applicants for the 2013-2014 school year who have/will soon have an undergraduate degree with an excellent academic record, substantial math coursework, and a passion for and commitment to teaching. If the residency model appeals to you and you really want to make a difference, please apply online at

Please apply online at by February 15th, 2013.
