Are you left brained? Right brained? Both? GREAT! As a media associate at Starcom, you will support the creation, management and stewardship of Starcom clients' media plans and investments and you'll use both the logical and creative sides of your brain.
Join the recruiting team made up of fellow Longhorns on November 9th at 6 PM (CMA 3.116) to hear more about what you can expect from a career in media planning and buying. They are currently considering candidates for their three Starcom US offices in Chicago, New York City and Los Angeles. Here are some of the key things that you may focus on as a Media Associate:
Inform and influence when and where a client’s advertising dollars should be spent
Learn about your clients business, including the industry, category, and competitors
Develop a solid understanding of consumer and industry insights to analyze competitors
Collaborate with internal colleagues and external media and advertising sales professionals
Develop relationships with both client contacts and external vendors
Learn how to make educated placement recommendations using media statistics and basic media math calculations (all taught in our training programs)
Develop analytical and negotiation skills
Monitor budgets, reporting and purchases to ensure all ads run as ordered
