Startup Workshop: Is that really a good idea?

Wed, October 22, 2014 | CLA 0.122

6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Think you have the next big idea? How do you know for sure? Validating your idea is important so you can avoid wasting resources like time and money building a product that nobody wants. UT Austin students are encouraged to attend this workshop for an introduction to validation techniques. The workshop will be led by UT Austin Liberal Arts alumni John Adolph.

John Adolph was a Plan 2 and Government major at UT Austin and went to law school at SMU. He recently founded a startup, Parqer, that provides a way for customers to pay valet services through a mobile application. Parqer has been covered in the Dallas Culture Map and Dallas Business Journalas a thriving DFW startup. John had to validate his idea before launching Parqer and now he wants to share those insights with students.

This is workshop is the 2nd in a series of monthly workshops being organized by the Liberal Arts Student Ventures program. The purpose of the program is to introduce Liberal Arts students to entrepreneurship by exposing them to COLA alumni that are involved in the startup world. You may fill out this form to receive email updates on the Student Ventures program.
