• Responsible for creating project test schedules, test plans, test cases, and other test deliverables 
• Completes test result evaluation, documentation, and reporting and communicates project testing status, risks and issues 
• Participates in reviews of documentation within the requirements and design phases 
• Ensures testing practice and quality Service Level Agreements are being met 
• Serves as State Farm's project testing subject matter expert for results based contracts 
• Utilizes specific tool knowledge for test management and defect management 
• Applies an understanding of development life-cycle, standards, processes and concepts to complete test related assignments 
• Navigates the organization to complete assignments 
• Creates project test deliverables and monitors/reports the progress, defects, risks and issues 
• Applies basic application and infrastructure debugging skills to perform daily tasks 
• Utilizes knowledge of test and defect management tools and process to evaluate, document and report on test results 
• Designs and develops manual test cases 
• Determines project test ID, environment and test data needs 
• Applies in-depth knowledge of test, test life-cycle and defect management processes to evaluate test results 
• Consults, coaches, mentors and structures work for others 
• Functions with autonomy and handles difficult assignments 
• Serves as change advocate and supports organizational direction 
• Promotes and utilizes testing processes, standards, best practices and procedures 
• Leads testing efforts, coordinating multiple resources and activities 
• Works with project team to design and execute effective testing solutions and determine resource needs 
• Utilizes in-depth knowledge of various technologies to complete assignments during the testing life-cycle 
• Responsible for ensuring testing service level agreements are being met 
• Provides input to requirements and design to ensure testability 
• Reviews and accepts test deliverables and utilizes test accelerators 
• Understands, reviews and consults on results based contracts

This opening is for an entry-level TEST ANALYST who will be responsible for determining test types, amounts, and the detailed specifications on how to properly test new or enhanced software or hardware.
Preferred Qualifications: 
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Information Systems, or closely related field 
*Academic success in key IT coursework 
* Someone with proven aptitude for success in a rapidly changing IT environment 
* Overall understanding of test schedules, test plans, and test cases 
* Knowledge of software development lifecycle, programming languages, and databases. 
* Knowledge of management information systems, operating systems, and computer hardware 
* Ability to quickly adapt to a changing environment 
* Strong communication skills, both verbal and written 
* Willingness and ability to learn new technologies 
* Strong technical problem solving skills 
* Strong critical thinking and analysis skills 
We are offering staggered start dates throughout 2016. 
This position will have an 18-month incumbency period for a lateral move and a 6-month incumbency period for a promotional opportunity (beginning on the effective date of the position) which must be met before the employee can post for any other State Farm position. The incumbency period does not affect the at will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.
