SXSW Eco is a three-day conference held annually in October in Austin, Texas looking at Social + Environmental Impact through the lenses of Design and Technology.

Internship Description 

Spend the year gaining experience and contacts in your area of interest (listed 
above) with an internship in the programming department at SXSW Eco. 
Programming interns will have a hand in all aspects of the conference, with the 
opportunity to creatively impact the event’s content. 
Internship is unpaid. Potential for future growth within the company. 

Time Commitment 
15-20 hours a week, ideally split between 3 days a week 
Must monitor email during all weekdays 
Full days (7 AM – 9 PM) during the conference, over 4 days (tbd) in October 

Research and propose prospective panelists, companies and topics 
Liaise with speakers and conference participants 
Administrative work: create and maintain databases 
Write blog posts + copyedit programming materials 
Event production 

Internship candidates should be proactive self-starters, with an enthusiasm for 
learning and a desire to get as involved as possible in the event. Strong 
communication skills, both written and verbal, are a must. Demonstrated 
background and interest, through educational or work experience, in their 
programming category of choice is a plus. Proficiency in Excel is required.
