Independent Contractor / Part time: between 25 – 30 hours per week, 48 weeks per year
Responsibilities include:
• General administration of office including purchasing, maintaining contracts with service providers, coordinating organizational calendar, and other administrative support as required.
• Program workflow: Coordinates the processing of films and videos through the digitization process and assists in database management.
• Communication with the public: Serves as a primary point of contact for the organization.
• Event support: Prepares and maintains materials for "Texas Film Round-Up" and other public events. Assists with hosting events as required.
• Coordination of digitization and other work for outside clients: Responds to inquiries, manages workflow, and handles billing process.
• Bookkeeping support: Performs limited financial activities and coordinates with accountant.
Qualifications:
Minimum
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Collaborative, team player comfortable in a small office environment
• Detail oriented, able to work without close supervision, professional demeanor, creative problem-solver
• Excellent verbal and writing skills
Preferred
• Two years office management experience, including some basic bookkeeping
• Familiarity with Filemaker Pro and Microsoft software
• Personnel or volunteer-program management experience
The Texas Archive of the Moving Image (TAMI) is a non-profit organization working to discover, preserve, and educate the community about Texas film heritage. By partnering with institutions and individuals across the state, TAMI digitizes and provides web access at TexasArchive.org to thousands of moving images that offer insight into Texas history and culture. TAMI conducts the "Texas Film Round-Up," a traveling educational program, and creates K-12 lesson plans for Texas teachers. TAMI is a hub of professional knowledge in the realm of media preservation and an innovator in the role of media as cultural heritage.
