Texas Folklife is seeking media producers to assist with our award-winning "Stories from Deep in the Heart" youth audio documentary program. Austin-area Middle and High School teachers and students will be guided through production of short radio documentaries on themes related to folklife----family and community traditions. We need your help with a variety of things to make our program a success! This position is well-suited for an individual interested in audio documentary production, communication technology, and work related to the fields of Communication Studies, Radio-Television-Film, Journalism, Folklore, Folk Art, Arts Administration, Education, Cultural Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, Ethnomusicology, and other related disciplines. 

In-depth classroom projects take place throughout the fall 2015 and spring 2016 semester. Media producers are expected to commit to working about 10 hours per week while the program is in session. Opportunities to participate in program-related activities are also available. Media producers are expected to provide their own transportation to and from program sites. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
-Assistance in audio recording fieldwork, photo/video documentation of fieldwork 
-Audio mixing work using audio editing software (Audacity, Final Cut, WaveLab, Audition) 
-Assistance with filming, photography, and documentation of workshop 
-Digital promotion, graphic design, social media promotion 
-Assist in maintenance of audio recording devices, SD card data, workshop dedicated-computers 
-Perform other duties as assigned 

Compensation: 
$15/hourly
