Village Capital is seeking an energetic, motivated, and detail-oriented Manager to lead our Global Financial Technology Initiative. The Financial Technology Manager will play a key role in growing Village Capital’s international presence in the financial technology industry and cultivating a strong network of entrepreneurs, investors, and experts to continually engage in the firm’s programs. 

The role has three core functions: 

Develop and build Village Capital’s financial technology initiative. 
In this role, you will work closely with Associates on specific programs to recruit the best entrepreneurs worldwide expanding access to financial services. You will also lead the development of content in Village Capital’s entrepreneur programming specifically related to financial services; 

Build and manage a network of entrepreneurs, investors, and stakeholders in financial technology. 
You will manage the recruitment process of mentors, investors, and other stakeholders worldwide, building the best network possible to support entrepreneurs promoting financial inclusion. 

Lead Village Capital’s sector presence in financial technology/financial inclusion worldwide. 
You will also serve as Village Capital’s primary representative in the financial technology industry, including research, thought leadership, and speaking roles. You will help communicate what our network of entrepreneurs is learning about financial inclusion to the world. 

The ideal candidate has experience in financial technology/financial inclusion and working with startups and investors. You must value the challenge of closely working with a team of young but talented Associates scattered across time zones. You must also be committed to the behind-the-scenes infrastructure building and detail-oriented work that goes into recruiting entrepreneurs, project management, event planning, and prospective partner identification and research. 

The Financial Technology Manager will: 
• Report directly to the Director of Global Programs, who oversees all Village Capital programs and curriculum; 
• Coordinate Village Capital’s FinTech outreach and Communications strategy with the Global Communications Manager; 
• Lead Village Capital’s Fintech focused 4 day accelerator programs 
• Work with the Director of Strategy and Partnerships to develop new programs and secure new partnerships and funding for Village Capital’s work in Financial Technology; 
• Serve with credibility and confidence as the Executive Team’s representative in meetings and calls with partners and investors, when appropriate; 
• Complete administrative tasks, as required, for the Director of Global Programs and Director of Operations.

Desired Qualifications: 
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience 
• 4-6 years of relevant business experience 
• Deep understanding of financial technology, financial inclusion or the payments industry. 
COMPENSATION: Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
