The Walmart International Academy was created to attract top, highly talented students who are interested in careers in International business. Due to Walmart’s expanding global presence, there is a need for talented, highly trained individuals within Walmart’s international corporate offices.
This development program includes up to one year of training in the Walmart U.S.-based corporate offices and is designed to train and familiarize associates to Walmart’s style of business and operation. After a period of training in a leadership program in the Walmart corporate office, the associate will then transfer to the People’s Republic of China to assume a position within that country’s Walmart organization. The time spent at Walmart’s corporate offices will equip the associate with a solid base of functional knowledge and practical skills that will be implemented in his/her new role in China.
Due to the nature of the program, qualified students must be authorized to work in the United States for a minimum of one year from the starting date of the program and have unrestricted work authorization in the People’s Republic of China. Wal-Mart will not sponsor candidates for a visa or employment authorization in the United States or the People’s Republic of China for this position.
