Regions Morgan Keegan Trust

Summer 2010 Site Review

Position: Intern
Student: Undeclared Sophomore

This summer I was fortunate enough to work at Regions Morgan Keegan Trust and Morgan Keegan Financial. During my time there I was able to learn and find out how the banking and trust system works. How to properly deal with clients and how to properly deal with co-workers and employers. My time was split between working with Regional Vice President Wanda Sisk and a Forbes top 100-wealth manager, Howard Safer. I learned much from them. While working with Howard I was able to learn how a fiduciary trust works and how to properly deal with clients and be a responsible and successful manager.

I was fortunate in being able to assist them in many useful aspects. I created a power point presentation on behavioral finance and how to properly be a wealth manager when dealing with client’s emotions. This PowerPoint was presented to the middle Tennessee chapter of the FPA or Financial Planners of America. I also wrote and conducted an advisor performance questionnaire that I gave to Regions Morgan Keegan Trust clients. The questionnaire was given directly to the client, which gave me hands on experience dealing with a client in a business setting. I also was able to sit in on many client manager meetings, as well as lunch meetings with outside guests. Such as an Israeli Bond sales man and a member of Pemco who gave a seminar to the office mangers.

I was extremely grateful for the knowledge and experience I gained through working at Morgan Keegan this summer. The people were extremely friendly and well educated in their field, which made this internship so valuable for my future.
