Pinto Carver Essay Contest Winners
Anna Kay, Carol, and Sophie
Every year, first and second year LAHers have the opportunity to submit essays to the Pinto Carver Essay Contest. Named for our former director's beloved cat Pinto, the contest gives LAHers the opportunity to showcase their writing skills in the form of a short essay for the chance to win one of three scholarships.
This year, submitters were asked to reflect on John Steinbeck's characterization of Texas in his work "Travels with Charley." Please join us in congratulating this year's winners (left to right): Anna Kay Reeves (first prize), Carol Metzger (third prize), and Sophie Schott (second prize)!
