Dr. Eric McDaniel examines race in America in his new podcast The American ingredient.

  american ingredient logoDr. McDaniel is a pioneer at the University of Texas for his teaching in the live online course model. Since 2013, McDaniel has taught Introduction to American and Texas Government to thousands of students across the airwaves.

Spreading his message further, McDaniel leverages the state-of-the-art recording studio in the Development Studio to record his popular podcast The American Ingredient. Focusing on work from social scientists and legal scholars, the American Ingredient demonstrates race is not the only ingredient in making America, but getting the taste just right takes two heaping spoonfuls.

McDaniel specializes in American politics. His research areas include religion and politics, Black politics, and organizational behavior. His work targets how and why Black religious institutions choose to become involved in political matters. In addition, his work targets the role of religious institutions in shaping Black political behavior. He is the other of Politics in the Pews: The Political Mobilization of Black Churches.
