Sixth Conference on Indigenous Languages of Latin America (CILLA VI)

The sixth Conference on Indigenous Languages of Latin America will be held at UT on October 24-26, 2013. The conference brings scholars from all parts of Latin America, the United States, and beyond to campus with 70 scholarly papers on a variety of language-related topics. Languages of Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Venezuela, Panama, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Mexico are featured. The keynote speakers this year include Jonathan Amith (independent scholar), Félix Julca Guerrero (Universidad Santiago Antúñez de Mayolo, Peru), Enrique Palancar (SeDyL-CELIA, CNRS and the Surrey Morphology Group), and Francesc Queixalós (SeDyl-CELIA, CNRS). The conference is sponsored by the Department of Linguistics, the Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies, the College of Liberal Arts, and the student association of Latin American Linguists and Anthropologists. Papers will be given in Spanish or English.
