Black Studies – Latino Studies Postdoctoral Fellow

The Department of African and African Diaspora Studies (AADS) and the Department of Mexican American and Latina/o Studies (MALS) at The University of Texas at Austin seeks to fill a Postdoctoral Fellowship for academic years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. We are interested in scholars doing work at the intersections of race, gender, and/or sexuality. Additionally, those whose work engages the politics and culture of Afro-Latino populations in the Americas are strongly encouraged to apply.

The fellow will teach one undergraduate course per academic year during either the fall or spring semester.

The fellow is expected to be in residence during the long semesters, pursuing an active program of research, participating in a scholarly community that includes faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates.

Salary is $60,000 per academic year, with fringe benefits, including health insurance.

Qualifications

Applicants must have received a Ph.D. within the last three years, including those who will graduate by August 2019.
