Deadlines & Notifications

Due to circumstances produced by the pandemic, the Center for Middle Eastern Studies is waiving the GRE requirement for applicants to the MA program in Middle Eastern Studies (degree code 668000) and its seven dual degrees for the 2022 admissions cycle. The GRE requirement has also been waived (as of 11/12/21) for the doctoral program in Middle Eastern Languages and Cultures (667800). For applicants to the doctoral program who have already paid for and/or taken the GRE, they have the option of asking that their scores be disregarded. To make this request or to express any concerns about this recent change, applicants should contact the department’s Graduate Adviser, Dr. Bruce Wells.

Please DO NOT call our office with admissions questions. You may email the Graduate Coordinator, Kelly Houck for assistance.

After you submit your ApplyTexas application, you'll receive an email from the Office of Admissions that includes your UT EID, allowing you to access MyStatus and the Document Upload System. During peak periods, this can take two to three days.
