Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship Program

What is FLAS?
The Foreign Language and Areas Studies (FLAS) program provides grants to a select number of institutions of higher education to enable them to offer competitive Academic Year and Summer fellowships to graduate and undergraduate students pursuing foreign language and area or international studies. Students awarded a FLAS Fellowship receive a monthly stipend and tuition coverage assistance. The application for the 2020-2021 FLAS will open on November 1, 2019, and close on February 1, 2020. We encourage all prospective and current students to apply for FLAS.
