Mona Mostofi is a third year Masters student in the Center for Middle Eastern Studies. She focuses on Persian Language and Literature and Turkish Language and Literature. This has led to a passion in foreign language education. Additionally, she enjoys exploring the topics of gender and identity in the Middle East.  Mona is a recipient of the Ann Grabhorn Friday Presidential Endowed Fellowship (2017-2018), Academic Year FLAS for studying Turkish language (2018-2019), and Summer FLAS for studying Turkish language in Istanbul, Turkey (2019). She was able to present her original research at Di-visions: New Directions in Anthropology Conference (2018), UT History Department's Symposium on Gender, History, and Sexuality (2018), Beyond the Breakdown: Comparative Literature Conference (2018), The Islamic Studies Colloquium (2018), and The Symposia Iranica (2019).
