Language Course Policies

Arabic, Persian, Modern Hebrew, Turkish

Course Numbers:

All undergraduate language sections have 3-credit graduate cross-listings (381s) that graduate students register for. The intent of these corresponding 3-credit versions is meant to keep tuition down. However, students, in reality, are still taking an undergraduate course that is either a lower-division or upper-division course. Lower-division courses cannot count toward degree requirements.

Content Courses are second or third-year, depending upon language, courses conducted in the target language. These are 3-credit upper-division, undergraduate courses that can be "bumped-up" for graduate credit and applied to the MA program of work if the instructor is tenured and a graduate level workload is assigned.
