Career Counseling & Professional Development

You should seek career counseling using the services provided by UT. The Liberal Arts Career Services have teamed up with the Graduate School to provide career-related support and workshops for graduate students considering or pursuing employment opportunities outside of academia. Their career coaches and workshops are available to all currently enrolled, UT Austin degree-seeking graduate students, regardless of discipline. We encourage you to begin using their services and resources as soon as possible- ideally well before graduation so they can help you maximize your post-grad school employment options.

Professional Development and Outreach Opportunities

CMES has, as part of its mission as defined by the Title VI grant, a dedicated outreach coordinator position, held by Katie Aslan. Outreach is also closely related to our funding opportunities and our contacts within the community in Austin and beyond. The outreach program often needs volunteers. If you are interested in doing outreach to the K-12 schools or to the broader community, please contact Katie.
