In her first year, Meagan Bennett participated in a year-long Policy Research Project (PRP) team sponsored by the National Security Council and the Intelligence Studies Program. She presented their research titled Interagency Performance in Counterterrorism Operations: Implications for the “Gray Zone” at the UT Spring Intelligence Symposium ‘U.S. Intelligence: Confronting 21st Century Challenges.’ She and her team presented their research at the National Security Council for the Director for Intelligence Programs and the Director for Counterterrorism and at the Office for the Director of National Intelligence. Meagan spent this summer studying Arabic in the Arabic Summer Institute at the University of Texas at Austin. 

 
Bio: 

Meagan Bennett is a second-year dual degree Master's candidate in Global Policy Studies at the LBJ School of Public Affairs and Middle Eastern Studies in the Dual Language track for Arabic and Persian. She holds a B.A. in International Relations and Global Studies, Middle Eastern Studies, and Government and a Certificate in Security Studies from the University of Texas at Austin where she was a Clements Center Undergraduate Fellow. She is a veteran of the U.S. Army where she served as an Arabic linguist in Military Intelligence including overseas tours in the Middle East.
