"Leibniz and Spinoza on Epistemological Evil”

Abstract:

If God is everywhere, then why the divine nature so hard to see? The tension between God’s ubiquity and these limitations seems a serious problem. This lecture articulates this epistemological problem of evil, presents some of the smartest historical responses to it, and compares the solutions offered by Leibniz and Spinoza.
