Eight Plan II students riding in the 2018 Texas 4000

The Texas 4000's mission is to cultivate student leaders and engage communities in the fight against cancer.

The program shares hope, knowledge, and charity through leadership development, grantmaking, and their cornerstone event, a 4,000+ mile bike ride from Austin to Anchorage.

Texas 4000 envisions a world where all students can become leaders in creating a cancer-free future.

Plan II students Seamus Hawley, Louis Kirkley, Carolyn Martin, Kayla Meyertons, Laura Rathjen, Erika Rodrigues, Hannah Rotwein, and Cade Stone are riding this year to help raise money for cancer research. You can read about their stories and why they ride at

The riders are en route to Anchorage now and will arrive at the finish line on August 10th.

Congratulations to these students and all the riders for their incredible hard work and accomplishments!
