Klaira Lerma



Klaira Lerma is a Project Manager at the Population Research Center. At TxPEP, she supports various projects. She is also currently involved in the Mississippi Women’s Health Experiences and Options Study, a comprehensive assessment of the reproductive healthcare landscape in Mississippi. She holds a Master of Public Health degree with a focus on Community and Behavioral Health from the Colorado School of Public Health at the University of Colorado and a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. 

Klaira’s experience specific to family planning is diverse, including qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods research and evaluation, policy advocacy, health education, and direct clinical services. Before joining TxPEP, Klaira was a research associate at Stanford University and managed a large portfolio of clinical research. Her research focused on expanding access to abortion and contraception, specifically medication abortion and immediate postpartum contraception. She also oversaw the Stanford Program for International Reproductive Education and Services (SPIRES), which provided evaluation and quality assurance services to reproductive health NGOs, including Population Services International, Ipas, and Marie Stopes International. 

Other than research, her passions include her dog (Guava), ceramics, traveling, cheese, podcasts, and sparkling water.
