Megan Kuhfeld is an educational researcher interested in the measurement of student academic growth and the distribution of educational opportunities in US public schools. Megan received a Ph.D. in education and M.S. in statistics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She joined the Population Research Center at the University of Texas at Austin as a postdoctoral fellow for the Interdisciplinary Collaborative on Development in Context in 2016. She is now a research affiliate, as well as a research scientist at NWEA. 

Megan's recent research as a AERA-MET dissertation fellow examines the use of student surveys of teacher practice in K-12 summative teacher evaluations. She was the recipient of 2017 Brenda Loyd Outstanding Dissertation Award from the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME). Her research interests also include innovative methods for measuring academic growth trajectories.
