John Traphagan's Article on Japan’s Population Decline Grabs Media Attention

Work by John W. Traphagan, PRC researcher and Professor of Religious Studies, was featured in the January 20th issue of The National Interest. Traphagan’s article, “Japan: Death by Demographics” which addresses Japan’s low fertility and associated population decline, was also listed on the BBC’s must-read section of their web site for best opinion pieces from around the world. 

“Japan's low birth rate means the nation slowly but inevitably will fall behind its regional competitors.”
