Department Governance
Associate Chairs
Frances Champagne
Professor and Associate Chair for Faculty and Student Affairs
The Department of Psychology’s academic mission is best achieved when students and faculty are supported and there is strong coordination between undergraduate student education, graduate student training and career development and faculty engagement with teaching and mentorship. In my role of Associate Chair for Student and Faculty Affairs, I am working to 1) ensure that the Department of Psychology maintains a strong undergraduate curriculum that offers a broad education in psychological science and prepares students for a range of post-graduate careers, 2) work with graduate students and the departmental administration to ensure that our graduate program achieves a standard of excellence and 3) work with faculty on how to provide training and educational opportunities for students that reflect the changing opportunities in the discipline. My highest priority is to work toward a sustainable funding model to provide current and prospective students with the financial support to thrive in our graduate program.
Marie H Monfils

Innovative and rigorous research training and output is at the core of our Department’s mission. As Associate Chair for Research and Operations, my goals are 1) to work closely with faculty and staff to provide a supportive, collaborative, and competitive research environment, and 2) to ensure that space is optimally used to best serve the Department’s vision.
