I am an Educational Psychologist. My research seeks to inform solutions to educational problems based on psychological theories and rigorous methodology. My present research examines youth’s beliefs about themselves as psychological antecedents of educational achievement and school adjustment. I am currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Population Research Center and the Department of Psychology at the University of Texas at Austin, conducting randomized controlled trials of educational intervention with nationally representative samples of adolescents.

Prior to this position, I was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Family and Child Development Program, researching academic development of minoritized youth. I earned my Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. In my Ph.D. program, I gained extensive training on the theoretical frameworks of achievement motivation.
