Conversation
The Department of Psychology is committed to hearing input and ideas from our entire community of students, staff and faculty. Discussion of these ideas is a critical step towards creating a diverse and inclusive environment. Empowerment can give individuals a voice, but we also need to use these voices to ensure meaningful change.
Communication and resources. The resources being developed for the graduate student bootcamp can be a source of support for both incoming and current graduate students. There are currently plans to develop a Psychology Graduate Student Canvas site to serve as a permanent home for all resources to support graduate students and as a vehicle for more efficient bidirectional communication of plans, ideas and suggestions. Graduate students can use this site as a vehicle to exchange information and foster a sense of community.
Town Hall Meetings. There will be regular Town Hall meetings (previously held in Fall 2019 and Spring 2020) for graduate students to engage in a discussion of their concerns and vision for the department and program. These events serve as an opportunity to share ideas on promoting inclusivity and diversity.
