Jonathan Pillow recieves NSF Career Award

Mon, September 17, 2012

Jonathan Pillow been selected for an NSF CAREER Award for his proposal entitled "CAREER: Unlocking the neural code with spikes, currents and conductances." The CAREER awards recognize promising young faculty and supports their research with five years of funding. Jonathan's $433,000 project develops new methods for understanding how neural circuits process information and for improving the yield of neurophysiology experiments through "closed-loop" experimental designs.

Dr. Pillow is an assistant professor of psychology who studies mathematical models of information processing in the nervous system. He is one of a group of CPS researchers recently awarded an NIH Institutional training grant, and is collaborating on a research project under an NIMH research grant.
