David Yeager receives dissertation award


A dissertation by Dr. David Yeager was selected by the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI) to receive the SPSSI Social Issues Dissertation Award's second prize.  The title of dissertation is "Implicit theories of personality and adolescent aggression: A process model and an intervention strategy". 

SPSSI (also known as Division 9 of the American Psychological Association) was founded in 1936 and is a group of scientists from psychology and related fields who share a common interest in research on the psychological aspects of social and policy issues.  This award recognizes dissertations that bring theory and practice into focus on critical problems facing humans in today's world.

Dr. Yeager is assistant professor in developmental psychology and a fellow with the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. He is affiliated with the Population Research Center as a Faculty Research Associate.
