Award-Winning African Novelist Reads, Discusses New Work

Nigerian-American novelist and short story writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie will read and discuss her forthcoming work at an event hosted by the Plan II Honors Program.

Adichie is the author of two acclaimed novels, "Purple Hibiscus" and "Half of a Yellow Sun," as well as the short story collection "The Thing Around Your Neck." She is the recipient of numerous awards, including a MacArthur Foundation "genius grant."

Adichie, who grew up in Nigeria, was shortlisted for the 2002 Caine Prize for African Writing. Her work has been selected by the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association and the BBC Short Story Awards and has appeared in various literary publications, including Zoetrope and The Iowa Review.

The event is free and open to the public. Book signing and reception follow the reading.
