Workshop Helps Students Prepare for Study Abroad in Germany

The Department of Germanic Studies presents a study abroad preperation workshop to help sutdents prepare for living in German speaking cultures.

The purposes of this workshop include:

  • Discussing expections for the first week abroad
  • Practing real life situations that are likely to be encountered
  • Answer individual and general questions

Topics that will be covered include:

  • How to open a bank account
  • What questions to expect in a grocery store, bakery, etc.
  • What to buy and where
  • Traveling by train and othe transportation
  • Housing
  • Cell phones
  • Where to go with FAQ
  • and more.

There will be students with previous experience in German speaking cultures to answer questions. A Q&A session will also be held.
