Bob Dylan on Seeing and Knowing and Feeling What It Is to Be Human

Tuesday Feb 18, 2020 5:30 PM - 6:15 PM | Trinity University, One Trinity Place, San Antonio, TX 78212

Free public lecture by UT Prof Thomas Palaima on Bob Dylan and the Classics.

Thomas G. Palaima, Armstrong Professor of Classics at The University of Texas at Austin, will present “Bob Dylan on Seeing and Knowing and Feeling What It Is to Be Human.” For close to 60 years Bob Dylan has been singing song poems that invite us to look at the world around us and open our minds and hearts to truths that otherwise remain unseen, unfelt, unknowable. Come and explore what this has to do with Dylan being grouped in September 1965 with Malcolm X, JFK and Fidel Castro as the four public figures who counted most with college students. Organized by Dr. Nicolle Hirschfeld and the Humanities Collective
